Event Description

The Board Game Jam is a rapid-fire creative experience where you and a group of friends and fellow students come together to design and create a board game. The game you design will be centred around themes of reflection, transition, and action.

Across a few hours of creative play, you will be using your brains, hands, and creativity to craft a board game prototype using pens, paper, and cardboard. This process involves sketching out board and character ideas, game mechanics, rule sets, and most importantly playing, testing, and improving the games.

There are prizes up for grabs for the best boardgame, so get your creative brain ticking!

No programming or digital skills required, so everyone is welcome to play!

This is a free event as part of Chromatic Festival. This event will take place in Q205 on Level 2 of the Q Building Honeysuckle. Registration essential. Snacks and drinks provided.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Time and Date

Chromatic Festival and The University of Newcastle acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: Awabakal Nation, Darkinjung Nation, Biripai Nation, Worimi Nation, Wonnarua Nation and Eora Nation. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.

Chromatic Festival and The University of Newcastle recognise that First Nations sovereignty was never ceded. This continent always was and always will be Aboriginal Land.

We respect their cultural heritage, beliefs, and continuing relationship with the land, and recognise that they are the proud survivors of more than two hundred years of dispossession.
